bite club is a chef-led dining and cooking experience created by steve schnitzler, a career chef and restaurant owner who believes food is love and is always best when it’s enjoyed together. From intimate private events to hands-on cooking experiences and dinner at the blue willow cafe, bite club is about great food, good energy, and gathering around the table. rooted in quality over quantity and a patient, welcoming approach to the kitchen, it’s a place to learn, try something new, and have a really good time doing it.

bite club’s family-style dinners are hosted at the blue willow café in wilmington, nc, a unique community space run by a caring heart foundation. the café trains and empowers employees with developmental disabilities, giving them meaningful roles throughout the business and fostering skills, confidence, and connection. it’s a place where food, care, and inclusion come together. a portion of every bite club event benefits a caring heart foundation

what is included in the price?

all food, sales tax and non-alcoholic beverages are included with your ticket. wine is available by the glass. gratuity is never expected, but if you’d like to leave one for the team, we kindly ask for cash.

at a ticketed event, can we sit at our own table?

all guests are seated together at our large communal table, with the meal served family-style. seating is close by design — our dinners are meant to bring people together, encouraging conversation, connection, and great food shared among new friends.

can we bring an extra guest with us to a ticketed event?

unfortunately, we’re only able to accommodate ticketed guests. all food is purchased and prepared in advance based on the number of tickets sold.

can you accommodate special menu requests for ticketed events?

the menu is set in advance and cannot be modified to accommodate special requests or dietary restrictions. we’re happy to share allergen information so you can decide if the meal is right for you!

if you would like to plan a special meal around restrictions, we would love to discuss a private event.

can I get a refund of my ticket if I cannot attend?

we do not offer refunds, as we are not a traditional restaurant and purchase and prepare all food based on the number of tickets sold. however, tickets are transferable—you’re welcome to give or sell your ticket to someone else.

this policy also applies to public and private cooking lessons. in rare circumstances, individual requests may be considered if made more than 72 hours in advance.
